Mississippi Residents Only

Scholarship: $1,100 per gift that will be given to two deserving males 

Potential Candidates: Must be a male graduating senior planning to attend the University of Mississippi or a male 20 years of age and up planning to further their education at the University of Mississippi.

Application deadline: March 30, 2020 (no exceptions)

Awarded Recipients Ceremony: May 27, 2020 (winning recipients must provide the scholarship board via email of their scheduled school day ceremony). Award is subject to an acceptance letter and attendance verification from the University of Mississippi.

Requirements: All applicants must have an affiliation with a church.  

All Applications must include the following:

• A Completed application for the scholarship

• An official transcript for your high school (graduating seniors) and/or last attending place of higher education.

• Two letters of recommendation from a non-family member. The letter of recommendation must come from the pastor of your church. The other recommendations can come from but are not limited to a current or past teacher, principal, mentor, or employer.

• An essay of 500 words (minimum) and 1000 words (max) must be typed with the following information included but not limited to:

• What makes you an athlete for Christ?

• Why should we consider your application over the others?

• How have you been an instrument for change within your community and church?

• What are your short term and long-term goals? What are your aspirations?

• Why is attending the University of Mississippi important to you? 

• Are you a member of any organizations? If so, what are they and what are your duties?

• If you are chosen for this scholarship, how do you plan to use it and how can you create the opportunity for someone else?
